Infrastructure Access Scheme

Infrastructure Access Scheme Overview

The Infrastructure Access Scheme provides an ideal mechanism for successful industry engagement and delivering outcomes of value for our partners.

Through this Scheme companies across the State can access equipment, laboratory space, and research infrastructure valued at over $60 million and located within UniSA, at no direct cost.

How does accessing infrastructure help my business?

FII has an extensive range of state of the art equipment to help develop new ideas, products or services, and to improve and enhance process issues.

The Scheme facilitates a fast response to the pertinent challenges faced by industry partners, including through advice, training and analysis from dedicated technical staff.

What infrastructure is available?

FII facilities are across four buildings at the Mawson Lakes campus. Each building contains state-of-the-art laboratories and specialised equipment.

The equipment available is extensive but can be classified into 4 key areas:

  • Minerals and resources engineering
  • Energy and advanced manufacturing
  • Environmental science and engineering
  • Biomaterials engineering and nanomedicine

Analytical equipment associated with these areas include:

  • Surface analysis
  • Minerals and materials analysis
  • Molecular and cellular biology
  • Chemical/water analysis

An extensive list of available equipment is available upon request.

How do I apply to access infrastructure?

Each enquiry to the Infrastructure Access Scheme is managed on a case-by-case basis in a responsive and timely manner to identify and work through the details of the proposed work, including;

  1. the scope of work being proposed – what specific infrastructure will be required and can UniSA meet this need? and
  2. the feasibility of the scope of work being proposed – does UniSA have the necessary capability and capacity to achieve the work in the timeframes being discussed?

Companies need to complete a short application form, and review and accept the Terms and Conditions associated with this Scheme.
